The Lodge

Welcome

The Cabins at Gold Lake is a small family owned and operated lodge directly on the western shore of Gold Lake. The secluded lodge cabins, small cabins, and tent cabins are situated on some of the only private land in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, and as such affords our guests the opportunity to both live in and explore all of nature’s wonders with the added bonus of being more than comfortable. Our unique location is not accessible via car, so upon your arrival we will greet you and take you for a quick boat ride to our destination. Your time at the Cabins will allow you to slow down and enjoy the lush forests, delicious food, amazing sunrises, sunsets, campfires, company and many activities offered by the great outdoors.

History

The Cabins at Gold Lake sits on land owned by the Twist family for more than a century. Originally known as Gold Lake Beach Resort, the lodge first started hosting family groups in the 1920s. Many of those families continue to return year after year until this day. It was run by the Reid family for the past 30 years and after helping manage the place for the Reids’ for nearly a decade, as well as horse packing for the Gold Lake pack station across the lake, William Castle and his wife, Rachael, have taken over the business.
